This new composite shielding material is a polymer with a metal blocker which provides new dimensions to radiation safety. A distinctive feature of the new material is that it is possible to modify its protection and construction properties as required. Another advantage of the material is that it is more flexible than traditional shielding materials, it surpasses steel in withstanding corrosion attacks and can be used as a construction material. The new shielding materials are non-toxic, can be manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner and have excellent thermal stability.
